Garlic Olive Oil Grissini
Share
There’s something about homemade breadsticks that feels a little special, even when they’re simple. These garlic olive oil grissini are crisp, light, and just garlicky enough — perfect for setting out with a bottle of balsamic or serving alongside a meal.
Using Garlic Olive Oil right in the dough gives these breadsticks flavor from the inside out. They bake up golden and crunchy, with a tender center and that unmistakable aroma that fills the kitchen while they’re in the oven.
I love how flexible this recipe is. Keep them plain with sea salt, or add rosemary, oregano, or a little Parmesan depending on what you’re serving them with. They’re great for dipping, snacking, or adding to a cheese board when you want something homemade without a lot of fuss.
Simple ingredients, good olive oil, and a little time — always worth it.

Crispy Italian-style breadsticks made with garlic olive oil and finished with sea salt, perfect for dipping or serving alongside meals.
Ingredients
-
2 cups all-purpose flour
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
1 teaspoon sugar
-
1 teaspoon instant yeast
-
⅓ cup Garlic Olive Oil
-
½ cup warm water (about 110°F)
-
1 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
-
1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary (optional)
-
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
-
Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling
Directions
In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
Add garlic olive oil and warm water. Mix until a dough forms, adding more water one tablespoon at a time if needed.
Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled.
Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Punch down dough and divide into 24 pieces. Roll each into a thin stick, 8–10 inches long.
Arrange on baking sheet, brush with additional garlic olive oil, and sprinkle with sea salt and optional toppings.
Bake 15–20 minutes until golden and crisp.
Cool on a wire rack before serving.
