These Garlic and Herb Buns with Pineapple Balsamic Glaze are one of those recipes that can make an ordinary meal feel just a little more special. They come out warm, golden, and full of savory herb flavor, then get finished with a light drizzle of sweet and tangy Pineapple Balsamic Vinegar.
I love recipes like this because they bring together simple ingredients in a way that feels unexpected but still easy. The Herbes de Provence Olive Oil, garlic, and fresh herbs soak into the bread beautifully, while the pineapple balsamic glaze adds a bright finish that makes these buns stand out on the table.

These Garlic and Herb Buns with Pineapple Balsamic Glaze are warm, golden, and full of savory flavor from Herbes de Provence Olive Oil, garlic, and fresh herbs. Finished with a sweet and tangy pineapple balsamic glaze, they make a delicious side dish for dinner, brunch, or entertaining.
Ingredients
-
4–6 small bread buns, store-bought or homemade
-
1/4 cup Herbes de Provence Olive Oil
-
3–4 cloves garlic, finely minced
-
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
-
1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped (optional)
-
Salt, to taste
-
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Pineapple Balsamic Glaze
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
In a small bowl, combine the Herbes de Provence Olive Oil, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and chives if using.
Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste, then mix well.
Slice the buns in half horizontally, but do not cut all the way through so they stay connected at the base.
Brush a generous amount of the garlic herb oil on the inside of each bun, making sure to coat the edges as well.
Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown and fragrant.
While the buns bake, combine the Pineapple Balsamic Vinegar and honey in a small saucepan.
Simmer over low heat for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly reduced and thickened.
Add a pinch of salt to the glaze.
Remove the buns from the oven and drizzle with the pineapple balsamic glaze.
Garnish with additional fresh parsley and serve warm.
Recipe Note
Make It Your Own:
- Use Garlic Olive Oil in place of plain oil and reduce the minced garlic slightly
- Add grated Parmesan before baking for an extra savory finish
- Use homemade rolls for a more rustic presentation
Tracey’s Notes:
This is one of those recipes that feels simple but still brings something unexpected to the table. The Herbes de Provence Olive Oil and garlic make the buns warm and savory, and the Pineapple Balsamic glaze adds just enough brightness to make people notice. I love serving these warm when the bread is soft inside and lightly crisp around the edges.
