Hot Apple Cider with Gravenstein Apple Vinegar at The Little Shop of Olive Oils

There is something about a steaming mug of apple cider that makes fall officially feel like fall. Crisp air, cozy sweaters, changing leaves... and suddenly all we want is something warm, spiced, and delicious in our hands. 🍎🍂

This Hot Apple Cider with Gravenstein Apple Balsamic takes classic spiced cider and gives it a delicious Little Shop twist. A splash of our Gravenstein Apple White Balsamic Vinegar adds bright, sweet-tart apple flavor that makes the cider taste even more vibrant and orchard-fresh.

It is easy enough for a quiet night at home, but special enough to serve at a fall gathering, Thanksgiving celebration, Halloween party, or holiday open house.

Why Add Gravenstein Apple Balsamic to Hot Apple Cider?

Apple cider already brings plenty of natural sweetness, so the secret to making it really interesting is adding a little contrast.

Our Gravenstein Apple White Balsamic brings crisp apple flavor and a delicious sweet-tart balance. Stirred into warm cider, it enhances the natural fruitiness while adding just enough brightness to keep the drink from becoming overly sweet.

The result is a cozy hot apple cider that tastes familiar, comforting, and just a little more special.

The Perfect Fall Drink for Entertaining

This is one of those wonderfully easy fall drinks that makes your whole house smell amazing. Warm apple cider, cinnamon, citrus, and cozy spices create all those classic autumn aromas we love.

Serve it for an afternoon of apple picking, around the firepit, at a Halloween gathering, alongside Thanksgiving appetizers, or as a warm welcome drink for holiday guests.

And because it can be made in a saucepan or slow cooker, it is especially easy when you are entertaining a crowd.

Make It a Cozy Fall Cocktail

Want to give your cider a grown-up twist? Hot apple cider is delicious with bourbon, dark rum, or apple brandy.

Bourbon adds warm caramel and vanilla notes, while apple brandy doubles down on that wonderful orchard flavor. You can keep the main batch alcohol-free and let guests add their favorite spirit to individual mugs.

Slow Cooker Hot Apple Cider for Easy Entertaining

A slow cooker makes this recipe especially handy for parties and holiday gatherings. Let the cider gently warm with apples, citrus, and spices, then keep it on the warm setting so everyone can help themselves throughout the evening.

It is simple, festive, and makes your kitchen smell like fall. That is a win in our book. 😉

What to Serve with Hot Apple Cider

This cozy cider pairs beautifully with just about everything we love to eat in the fall.

Try serving it alongside apple crisp, apple walnut muffins, cinnamon doughnuts, pumpkin bread, baked brie, or a fall-inspired cheese board.

It is also a natural match for recipes featuring Butter Olive Oil, roasted walnuts, maple, cinnamon, pears, apples, and other warm autumn flavors.

A Delicious Way to Enjoy Gravenstein Apple Balsamic

Gravenstein Apple Balsamic is one of those flavors that belongs in so much more than salad dressing. Its sweet-tart apple character makes it perfect for fall drinks, roasted vegetables, pork and chicken dishes, harvest salads, baked goods, desserts, and even cocktails.

Adding just a splash to hot apple cider is an easy way to give a familiar favorite a delicious new twist.
