Easy Garlic Olive Oil Bread: Crispy, Golden & Seriously Delicious

A close-up of a thick slice of golden-brown toasted garlic bread drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with herbs.

If there is one thing we will never say no to, it is warm, crusty bread covered in garlic, herbs, and really good olive oil. 🧄🫒

This Easy Garlic Olive Oil Bread is crispy around the edges, soft in the middle, and loaded with garlicky goodness. Even better? It comes together in minutes with just a handful of ingredients.

Instead of relying on loads of butter, we let premium extra virgin olive oil do the heavy lifting. It soaks into every nook and cranny of the bread, helping create those irresistibly golden, crunchy edges while adding rich flavor.

Why You’ll Love This Garlic Olive Oil Bread

  • Quick & easy: Ready in about 15 minutes.
  • Big flavor: Garlic, herbs, Parmesan, and olive oil make every bite delicious.
  • Perfect for sharing: Serve it with pasta, soup, salad, or your favorite dipping oil.
  • Easy to customize: Add more cheese, red pepper flakes, fresh herbs, or even a splash of balsamic.

The Olive Oil Makes the Difference

Because olive oil is one of the main ingredients, this is a recipe where quality really matters. A fresh, flavorful extra virgin olive oil gives the bread a beautiful richness and helps the surface become crisp and golden in the oven.

For even more flavor, try making it with Garlic Olive Oil. It gives you that wonderful roasted garlic flavor without adding another step to the recipe.

What to Serve with Garlic Olive Oil Bread

This bread is one of those recipes that seems to disappear the moment you put it on the table. Serve it alongside:

  • Spaghetti, lasagna, or baked pasta
  • Tomato soup or minestrone
  • A big Italian-style salad
  • Chicken Parmesan
  • Olive oil and balsamic for dipping
  • Or simply enjoy it warm straight from the baking sheet — we won’t judge!

Easy Garlic Olive Oil Bread Recipe

Golden. Garlicky. Crispy. Cheesy. Basically everything we want bread to be.

Little Shop Tip: Finish it with a tiny drizzle of fresh extra virgin olive oil after it comes out of the oven. That final drizzle gives you another layer of fresh olive oil flavor.

Now the only question is… are you making one loaf or two? 😉

Easy Garlic Olive Oil Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Italian or French bread
  • 1/3 cup Garlic Olive Oil or premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced, if using plain EVOO
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Pinch of red pepper flakes
  • Optional: Additional olive oil for finishing

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place cut-side up on a baking sheet.

  3. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic if using, Parmesan cheese, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.

  4. Spoon or brush the olive oil mixture generously over the cut sides of the bread.

  5. Bake for 7–9 minutes, or until the bread is hot and golden around the edges.

  6. For an extra-crispy top, place the bread under the broiler for 1–2 minutes. Watch carefully so the garlic and cheese do not burn.

  7. Remove from the oven and drizzle lightly with additional extra virgin olive oil, if desired.

  8. Slice and serve warm.
