Maple Balsamic Glazed French Toast
Share
Some mornings call for something a little extra special.
This French toast starts with thick slices of brioche or challah soaked in a simple custard and cooked until golden and buttery in Butter Premium Olive Oil. But the real magic happens when the topping hits the pan.
Fresh berries warm gently with Vermont Maple Dark Balsamic and real maple syrup until they soften and turn into the most beautiful, glossy sauce. The balsamic adds just enough depth to make the berries taste brighter and richer all at the same time.
Spoon that warm maple-berry glaze over a stack of golden French toast and suddenly breakfast feels like brunch at your favorite café.
It’s cozy, a little indulgent, and honestly… pretty hard to resist.
Perfect for slow weekend mornings, special breakfasts, or anytime you want to make breakfast feel like a treat.

Golden brioche French toast topped with warm berries simmered in Vermont Maple Dark Balsamic and maple syrup for a rich, fruity breakfast treat.
Ingredients
For the French Toast
-
4–6 thick slices brioche or challah bread
-
3 eggs
-
½ cup milk (or half & half for extra richness)
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
-
Pinch of salt
-
1 Tbsp Butter Premium Olive Oil
For the Maple Balsamic Berry Glaze
-
2 Tbsp Vermont Maple Dark Balsamic Vinegar
-
2 Tbsp pure maple syrup
-
1 cup fresh raspberries (or mixed berries)
Directions
In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon (if using), and salt.
Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for about 20 seconds on each side.
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add Butter Premium Olive Oil.
Place soaked bread slices into the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes per side.
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine Vermont Maple Dark Balsamic and maple syrup.
Add raspberries and gently stir as they warm and begin to break down, about 3–5 minutes, forming a light syrup.
Stack the warm French toast on plates.
Spoon the warm maple balsamic berry mixture over the top and serve immediately.
Recipe Note
Tracey’s Notes
- Brioche and challah both soak up the custard beautifully without falling apart.
- The balsamic gives the berries a deeper flavor without making the sauce overly sweet.
- This glaze is also wonderful over pancakes or waffles.
Optional
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
- Add sliced bananas or strawberries to the berry sauce.
- Top with whipped cream or vanilla yogurt.
