Soft, festive dinner rolls shaped like pumpkins and glazed with our Vermont Maple Balsamic for the perfect touch of seasonal sweetness. A fun and delicious fall favorite!
Ingredients
- For the Buns
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- ¼ cup sugar

2 Tbsp Butter Olive Oil (or Traditional EVOO)
- 1 large egg
- 3 cups all-purpose flour (plus more for kneading)
- 1 tsp salt
- Cinnamon sticks, cut into 1–2" pieces (for stems)
- For the Maple Balsamic Glaze

2 Tbsp Vermont Maple Balsamic

1 Tbsp melted butter or Butter Olive Oil
- 1 tsp sugar (optional)
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in Butter Olive Oil and egg until smooth.
- Add flour and salt. Mix until dough forms.
- Turn onto a floured surface and knead ~5 minutes until soft and elastic.
- Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise ~1 hour or until doubled.
- Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Roll each into a ball.
- Wrap each dough ball loosely with kitchen twine to create pumpkin “sections.”
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and rise 15 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F for 20–22 minutes or until golden.
- Remove twine while warm. Insert cinnamon sticks as stems.
- Brush with Maple Balsamic Glaze before serving.
