Hot Apple Cider with Gravenstein Apple Vinegar

Servings: 4-6

Ingredients:

  1. 4 cups fresh apple cider (store-bought or homemade)
  2. 2 tbsp Gravenstein Apple Vinegar
  3. 1 cinnamon stick
  4. 3-4 whole cloves
  5. 1 star anise (optional)
  6. 1 orange slice
  7. 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  8. 1 pinch of nutmeg
  9. 1 small pinch of salt
  10. Apple slices and cinnamon sticks for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Mixing Ingredients: In a large pot, combine the fresh apple cider, Gravenstein Apple Vinegar, cinnamon stick, whole cloves, star anise, and orange slice.

  2. Simmer: Place the pot over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Allow it to simmer for about 10-15 minutes, letting the spices infuse their flavors into the cider.

  3. Sweeten: After simmering, stir in honey or maple syrup. Adjust the sweetness to your liking. Add the pinch of nutmeg and salt, and stir well.

  4. Strain: Remove the pot from heat. Using a fine-mesh sieve, strain the cider into mugs to remove the whole spices.

  5. Serve: Garnish each mug with apple slices and a cinnamon stick if desired. Serve the apple cider warm.

Notes:

  • The Gravenstein Apple Vinegar adds a unique tartness and depth of flavor to the cider. If you prefer a milder vinegar flavor, you can adjust the quantity to your taste.
  • For an adult twist, consider adding a splash of spiced rum or bourbon to each serving.

Enjoy this warm, comforting beverage on a chilly day or evening. The Gravenstein Apple Vinegar will provide a unique twist, making it a memorable drink for guests and family alike! ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”ฅ
