Share
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf of French or Italian bread
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Extra virgin olive oil for drizzling
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine the extra virgin olive oil, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise to create two long halves.
- Spread the garlic and EVOO mixture evenly over both halves of the bread.
- If using, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the garlic-oiled bread for an extra layer of flavor.
- Place the bread halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden brown and the oil is soaked into the bread.
- For an extra crispy top, switch the oven to broil for the last 1-2 minutes, but watch closely to prevent burning.
- Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a minute.
- Slice the bread into individual pieces
- Drizzle a little extra virgin olive oil over the top for added richness.
