Cheesy Baked Cauliflower Tots


  • 1 medium head of cauliflower, riced or finely chopped
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • ¼ cup almond flour or breadcrumbs for a non-gluten-free version
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil 
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooking spray or additional EVOO for greasing


  • Preheat your oven to 400ºF (200ºC). Grease a baking sheet with cooking spray or brush it with EVOO.
  • Steam the riced or finely chopped cauliflower in the microwave for 3-4 minutes or until soft. Let it cool and then, using a clean dish towel or cheesecloth, squeeze out as much moisture as possible.
  • In a large bowl, combine the steamed cauliflower, cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese, almond flour or breadcrumbs, egg, EVOO, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the mixture is uniform.
  • Scoop about a tablespoon of the mixture and shape it into a tot. Place the tot on the prepared baking sheet and repeat with the remaining mixture.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the tots are golden brown and crispy, turning them halfway through the baking time.
  • Let the cauliflower tots cool slightly before serving with your choice of dipping sauce.
