Homemade Chipotle Hummus-The Little Shop of Olive Oils

Homemade Chipotle Hummus


  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons Chipotle Premium Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • 2-3 tablespoons water (as needed for desired consistency)
  • Paprika and fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


  • Drain and rinse the chickpeas thoroughly.
  • In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, chipotle infused olive oil, tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, and salt.
  • Blend until smooth, adding water gradually until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning as needed, adding more salt, lemon juice, or chipotle infused olive oil to taste.
  • Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl.
  • Drizzle with additional chipotle infused olive oil and garnish with a sprinkle of paprika and fresh parsley, if desired.
  • Serve with pita bread, fresh vegetables, or as a spread on sandwiches.
