Winter Pomegranate Sangria at The Little Shop of Olive Oils

Winter Pomegranate Sangria

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle (750ml) of red wine (Merlot or Cabernet works well)
  • ¼ cup Pomegranate Dark Balsamic Vinegar
  • ¼ cup orange liqueur (like Grand Marnier or Triple Sec)
  • ¼ cup brandy (optional, for extra warmth)
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup fresh cranberries
  • ½ cup pomegranate arils
  • 2-3 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • 2 cups sparkling water or club soda ( optional for a fizzy finish)
  • Ice for serving
  • Franklin Raw Honey (optional for extra sweetness)
  • Star anise for garnish

Instructions:

  • In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, Pomegranate Balsamic, orange liqueur, and brandy. Stir well to blend the flavors.
  • Add the orange slices, apple slices, cranberries, and pomegranate arils to the pitcher. Gently muddle the fruit with a wooden spoon to release their juices.
  • Add the Rosemary sprigs to the pitcher and stir. Allow the sangria to sit in the fridge for at least 2 hours (or up to overnight) to let the flavors meld.
  • When ready to serve, add ice to the glasses and fill halfway with the sangria. Top off with sparkling water or club soda for a festive fizz.
  • Garnish with a sprig of rosemary, star anise, and a few cranberries for a beautiful presentation.
Tip: For an extra touch of sweetness, drizzle a little honey or add a splash of orange juice before serving.
